Page structure
Declares a language, has a real title, exactly one top-level heading, and headings that don't skip levels — the skeleton screen readers navigate by.

Images & media
Every image needs alt text. Form fields need labels. Links and buttons need discernible names. No focusable content hidden from assistive tech.

Navigation
Landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer) so screen reader users can jump around, plus a skip-to-content link for keyboard users.

Documents
We find PDFs linked from the homepage and check whether they're tagged, titled, and language-set. An untagged PDF is a locked filing cabinet.
Honest caveat: this is an automated static scan — 12 HTML checks plus PDF tag inspection, scored out of 100. It catches the structural failures that lock students out, but it is not a substitute for a full manual accessibility audit. A high score doesn’t mean “accessible”; a low score definitely means “fix this.”
