An independent watchdog for the students the web forgot

Students With Disabilities exists for one reason: students with disabilities deserve a web that works for them. When a university posts an untagged PDF syllabus, when a school district’s enrollment form can’t be parsed by a screen reader, when a college homepage has no language declaration — real students get locked out of their education.

We do three things. We scan — anyone can paste any organization’s website into our public scanner and get an honest A–F grade. We publish — every scan feeds a public leaderboard that recognizes the organizations doing it right and calls out the ones doing it wrong. We watch — our news feed tracks digital accessibility developments from around the world.

We’re independent. We don’t sell audits, we don’t take money from the organizations we grade, and our scanner’s checks are public. Sunlight is the strategy: accessibility improves when failing publicly costs more than fixing quietly.

If your organization got a bad grade here, that’s fixable — and fixing it is the whole point. If you got an A, tell everyone. You earned it.
